Build the cleaning scope around your dealership

Customers, sales staff and service visitors use different parts of a dealership throughout the day. A useful cleaning plan identifies those areas separately, including the surfaces that need routine attention and the work that needs an empty space. MEI reviews the layout and operating hours before proposing a schedule for your San Diego property.

Showroom floors and display areas

Identify the floor material, existing finish and safe routes between display vehicles. Routine soil removal and periodic machine cleaning are separate tasks. Tell us when vehicles or displays will be moved by your staff so the agreed floor area is accessible. Product choice, equipment clearance and drying time need to suit the surface and the next opening time.

Waiting rooms, sales offices and shared spaces

List customer seating, reception counters, offices, restrooms and employee breakrooms in the scope. Agree on which desk surfaces can be cleaned and which documents, electronics or personal belongings must remain untouched. Restroom use and customer traffic help determine visit frequency; a busy waiting area may need a different schedule from a back office.

Glass and periodic detail work

Specify accessible interior glass, partitions, entry doors and areas with fingerprints. Confirm whether the request includes glass only or also frames and ledges. Carpet extraction and machine floor treatment should be scheduled separately from routine vacuuming and mopping, with enough access and drying time before people return.

Keep shop and vehicle work clearly separated

Cleaning the building does not include washing or detailing vehicles, moving cars, handling shop fluids or removing hazardous waste. Identify service bays, parts storage and other restricted zones during the walkthrough. Your site contact should confirm permitted access and coordinate any changes to display layouts or work areas.

Prepare for a walkthrough

  • Approximate cleanable area and floor types
  • Hours open to customers and available cleaning windows
  • Restroom count, waiting areas and staff spaces
  • Glass or periodic floor-care needs
  • Vehicle clearance, restricted zones and the local approver

The written proposal confirms areas, tasks, frequency and exclusions. Pricing depends on the agreed work and conditions; a walkthrough helps distinguish routine cleaning from the first detailed visit.
